Washington Momument

There is currently construction at the Washington Momument - I did get some amazing pictures of it last night.  If you are researching it can you tell me why you see a red light in my evening photo? Also can you tell me how tall this monument is?  What year was it built and can I walk to the top of it still? I hear they use to provide refreshments in the early days because the climb is so long.  How many steps to the top?

Can you see it in the distance?
